|Elevation gain 1200mt|
This itinerary offers an excellent opportunity to combine the pleasures of cycling with an exploration of the artistic and cultural heritage of the Romagna and Marche countryside. The route is of medium difficulty and covers a total of 100 km with a 1200-metre change in level.
From Riccione, you follow in the footsteps of Raphael to then reach Urbino, a town perched on two hills and ancient capital of the Dukes of Montefeltro. The route is undulating, and after just 11 km you have to climb for 10 km to get to Tavoleto. There is then a quick descent to Casinina, from where it is constantly uphill to Schieti and on to Urbino at 48 km.
For the return trip, you descend towards Pesaro, until reaching Montecchio where you continue for Tavullia. It’s the last climb on this route. After leaving Tavullia, and at 78 km, the going is all on the flat through S. Giovanni in Marignano and Cattolica.
The easy climbs and gentle slopes will allow you to maintain a good rhythm. A 39×23 gear ratio will enable you to manage the various ascents without difficulty.
We are located in Emilia Romagna, region bordered by Veneto and the beautiful cities of Venice and Padua to the North, and by Tuscany, Umbria and Marche to the South, offering charming cities such as Florence, Perugia, Assisi and Urbino.
We are characterised by a concentration of adrenaline, traditions and typical cuisine, captured in the most beautiful tours that touch sites on the Adriatic coast such as Cesenatico, the land of Pantani, and reach all the way to Ferrara and Ravenna, cities of art and history, passing through rugged ascents such as those of Cippo and Carpegna, or the Cimone in Modena.
