The fortress of San Leo and Villagrande

Route details

A route for expert cyclists or for a slightly longer outing if cycled at a moderate speed, exploring a vast area. It starts with a gentle slope up to Mercatino Conca. Then the climb to Montelicciano begins, in the state of San Marino. Finally, we will arrive at San Leo, a medieval fortress, and the prison of Count Cagliostro. But the effort will continue up to Villagrande, as we skirt Mount Carpegna. Then we will return home along a stretch that is almost all downhill, with a last stop in San Clemente, before finally reaching the sea.
